OXNARD, Calif. - The Ventura County Sheriff's Office Special Crimes Unit, working alongside the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, arrested two men from Oxnard on charges related to the possession of illegal firearms.

The sheriff's office said that, in April, detectives followed up on information indicating Aquilino Figueroa and Johnny Figueroa were in possession of an illegal firearm.

The detectives obtained a search warrant for the Figueroas' residence in the 500 Block of North McKinley Street in Oxnard.

During their investigation, the detectives said they also determined that Aquilino and Johnny were both members of a local criminal street gang who were on Post-Released Offender Supervision.

Detectives conducted the search warrant at the residence on Thursday. During the search, however, detectives said two firearms were thrown from the residence through a bedroom window.
