Sheriff’s department looking for man who exposed himself to teen in Goleta

GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man in a van exposed himself to a teen who was walking in Goleta.

It happened Wednesday just after 4 p.m. on the 6800 block of Cathedral Oaks Road.

A white van pulled up to a 17-year-old girl who was walking on Cathedral Oaks Road. The teen said a man exited a white van and exposed himself in front of her. The man called out to the teen and made sexually explicit comments towards her.

The van reportedly drove off as the teen ran for help.

Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect or the van.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 50 years old with stubble facial hair. He was driving what is believed to be an older model white Ford van.

Another witness told law enforcement that they saw the van near La Patera Lane at Cathedral Oaks just before the flashing incident.

Anyone with information about the suspect or van is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 805-681-4100. You can remain anonymous by calling the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's tip line at 805-681-4171.
