Santa Barbara sheriff’s deputies search for stolen vehicle suspects

Deputies are searching for two suspects wanted in connection to a vehicle stolen out of Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is searching for suspects that fled from a stolen vehicle near Goleta.

The suspects were last seen in the area of Patterson Avenue and Cathedral Oaks Road.

Deputies, sheriff's dogs and a sheriff's air support helicopter aided in the search.

The suspects were seen running from deputies on foot. There have been no reports of any arrests made at this time.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has asked the public to avoid the area of Cathedral Oaks and Patterson, as well as La Buena Tierra.

An order for residents to shelter in place was issued in the area of Ribera Road, N. Patterson Avenue, La Buena Tierra and Avenida Pequena.

At around 4:15 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office announced that one suspect was in custody, but deputies were continuing to search for as many as three additional suspects. Another suspect was apprehended shortly after.

The two suspects were detained at a gunpoint. Deputies say two suspects are still on the run.
