OXNARD, Calif. - A 14-year-old Oxnard teen was arrested Thursday in connection to a December stabbing.

On December 20, Oxnard police officers responded to a home on the 500 block of Wolff Street for a report of a stabbing and attempted carjacking.

A resident of the home came out to find several people trying to steal their vehicle. When the resident intervened, one of the carjackers pulled out a knife and stabbed the resident. The carjackers then fled the scene.

A female juvenile remained at the scene and was detained.

On Thursday at around 7 a.m., police, SWAT and a K-9 unit served a warrant at the teen's home on the 1000 block of West Ninth Street. The teen -- who is unnamed due to their age -- was arrested and faces charges for assault with a deadly weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident or other criminal activity in the city is asked to contact the Oxnard Police Department at 805-385-7600.
