VENTURA, Calif. - A Ventura woman was arrested Monday on accusations that she stole over $50,000 from her employer.

Andrea Galindo, 40, was working as a bookkeeper at Hats Unlimited in Ventura. The owner of the business contacted the police department after an audit uncovered significant discrepancies in their billing department.

Galindo, whose primary duties was to manage finances and bills at the company, is also accused of cashing checks without approval.

Police investigators said Galindo had embezzled over $50,000 from the business and even fraudulently paid herself for vacation time.
