Santa Paula man sentenced to life in prison for killing pregnant girlfriend
VENTURA, Calif. - A Santa Paula man was sentenced to life in prison for the 2014 murder of his pregnant girlfriend.
Antonio Magana pleaded guilty to first-degree, premeditated murder for the killing of his pregnant girlfriend Ashley Morgan.
During Magana's trial, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office said Magana wanted Moran to end her pregnancy, but she refused.Â
On March 14, 2014, Magana met Moran in Obregon Park. He then struck her with a bat and stabbed her in the neck. Her body was found the next morning, hidden in some bushes. Magana admitted to using a knife and a baseball bat during the attack.Â
Magana was sentenced to a term of 27 years to life in prison in Moran's death.
