ATASCADERO, Calif. - Police arrested two people in connection to a burglary at a popular Atascadero restaurant.

The burglary was first reported Thursday morning at Sylvester's Burgers on El Camino Real.

An employee arrived and found the restaurant had been broken into and two cash registers, cash, and electronic devices were stolen.

Police spoke with witnesses who said they remembered seeing a former employee in the area the previous night. The witnesses identified the former employee as Sean Altman, 35, of Paso Robles.

Investigators found the two cash registers abandoned in Atascadero and were able to track some of the property to an area in Paso Robles.

Altman was arrested later the day. Police say Altman was in possession of some of the stolen items and may have even sold some the stolen property.

Altman was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail where he awaits charges for possession of stolen property and burglary.

Police also arrested 28-year-old Candice Matthews of Paso Robles on an out of state felony warrant.

Atascadero police continue to investigate the burglary.
