Santa Maria police make robbery arrest

SANTA MARIA, Calf - Santa Maria police officers responded to a robbery on W. Betteravia Road and Thornburg Street Monday night.

A victim was approached by a male robber with a handgun and demanded money. After the victim gave the robber the money, the robber fled the scene.

The police later found the suspect and arrested 19 year-old Martin Montez De Oca. During investigation police officers did not find a handgun.

Martin Montez De Oca was transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail on one count of felony robbery with a bail set at $100,00 dollars.
