Residents in Santa Barbara, Ventura counties win $1.5 million in vaccine lottery

LOS ANGELES - Two locals can now call themselves millionaires.

One person in Santa Barbara County and another in Ventura County were drawn during the State of California's Vax For The Win vaccine lottery.

The two lucky winners were chosen among millions of California residents who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Eight others had their numbers pulled during the drawing at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The winners, who have not been identified yet, will both receive the $1.5 million grand prize.

They are the latest lucky winners in our area to be chosen during the state's vaccine lottery. Earlier this month, a San Luis Obispo County resident was drawn from the lottery and awarded $50,000.
