HOUSTON (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris has blasted Republicans’ views on gun control and public education in a speech to the American Federation of Teachers. The union was the first to formally endorse her candidacy since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed her as his successor. In her speech, Harris described the campaign as a battle for the country’s future. The likely Democratic nominee has visited four states this week as she prepares for a general election fight with Republican candidate Donald Trump.
