SLO County Fire Department respond to vegetation fire northeast of Templeton

TEMPLETON, Calif. – San Luis Obispo County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire near 2690 Neal Spring Rd. northeast of Templeton and successfully contained the flames to a little over two acres Friday afternoon.

The fire was first reported around 3:31 p.m. Friday afternoon, but the fire was contained to 2.11 acres with crews expected to remain on the scene for another 20 minutes detail San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.

As a special request from San Luis Obispo County Fire, the following public service announcement was asked to accompany this article.

If you intend to operate mechanical equipment, San Luis Obispo County Fire Department recommends you do so early in the morning and when it is not windy as well as bring water, a shovel and other tools to extinguish fires if they spark up while you work.

The cause of the fire has not been publicly disclosed and is pending the results of an investigation.
