Former SLO Sheriff’s deputy arrested on child molestation charges
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A former correctional deputy with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is facing child molestation charges and the sheriff's office says there may be additional unidentified victims.
On Wednesday, sheriff's deputies arrested James Peter Storton, 63, of Arroyo Grande at an undisclosed location.
Storton, who worked as a deputy for nearly 30 years and retired in 2009, was arrested under an arrest warrant for multiple counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. The sheriff's office said there are multiple victims.
The locations of these crimes are being withheld to protect the victims and their family, the sheriff's office said.
