Plane clips fence after landing at Santa Barbara Airport

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A small fire sparked at the Santa Barbara Airport after a single-engine plane ran into a fence after landing Tuesday morning.
At around 11:15 a.m. a Cessna 172 landed on a non-commercial runway and then ran into a fence near Gate 1. A small fire started after the plane crashed into the fence but was extinguished quickly, airport officials said.
The pilot was the only person on board and they were uninjured.
The plan wreckage remains tangled in the fence near Gate 1 at the airport.
Santa Barbara Airport says Gates 1 and 2 are currently out of service. Gate 1 is expected to be out of service for a significant period of time.
