Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s recruiter named County employee of the month

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - This year's Santa Barbara County Employee has been chosen.

Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office Human Resources Recruiter Colleen Ryan was honored with the title at a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday morning.

Board members presented her with a resolution that highlighted her achievements, including her help in setting a new hiring record of 107 Sheriff's Office employees last year.

Sheriff Bill Brown commended Ryan's family history of public servitude. Her father as a marine, and was a part of the L.A.P.D. for 30 years, her mother is a Registered Nurse, and her sister works in the Sheriff's Office as well, in the Custody Records department.

Ryan humbly accepted the award and said, "My rewarding career at the Sheriff’s Office affirms I am right where I’m supposed to be... Every day I never forget to count my blessings.”
