SANTA MARIA, Calif. - One person was injured in a crash in Santa Maria Wednesday.

The Santa Maria Fire Department first tweeted about the crash just before 4 p.m.

It happened at Main Street and Russell Avenue, just north of Russell Park.

Firefighters said one person was being extricated from a car.

Photos from the scene show an SUV and a sedan were involved in the crash.

The police department also responded. Officers said to expect delays in the area while they investigated, and they reminded people to properly wear seatbelts.

It was unclear what caused the crash.
