Santa Maria’s Downtown Friday starts today
Kettle Korn, ice cream dancing and fun. Santa Maria’s Downtown Friday was in full swing as residents enjoyed a sunny Friday night. The event will take place every Friday starting tonight until Sept. 27 at Town Center West on Broadway and Cook St.
” The best part about this event is being able to come together as a community bringing everyone out, promote good in the community. To bring out the band behind me and all the vendors, ” said Downtown Friday’s MC Isaiah Estrada.
Vendors like face painting Glitter Kats , whose owner says Downtown Friday’s had helped her get business.
“After doing this for three years, I get a lot of regulars that come back every week and want to get their face painted so that’s always fun,” said Glitter Kats owner Kathryn Scott.
The event is back for its fourth year and averages 2,000 to 3,000 visitors each day.
I meet a lot of people, different clients, too and different customers, it’s very important for us, ” said Jose Bariantos of JB Jewelers.
There are attractions for kids, adults and even granny and grandpa.
” It’s really fun, the people are friendly. It’s really nice, it’s a really nice place to come on Fridays, ” said Downtown Friday participant Sanjuana Liendo Aguilera.
This year’s attractions include pro wrestling, coloring contest, bingo, and robot demos.
For those who want to come and just relax there are also massages on deck.
Downtown Fridays will be held each Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 pm and is free to all with free parking as well.
