Model of consistency as Bishop Diego football has made playoffs nine straight years

It came down to the final game but Bishop Diego High School football extended their consecutive playoff appearance streak to nine straight years.

The Cardinals beat Thousand Oaks in overtime to squeak into the CIF Division 4 playoffs where they open on the road against Saugus on November 2 at the College of the Canyons. Kickoff is 7:30pm.

Bishop Diego made Santa Barbara County history last year by becoming the first football team in the area to win a CIF State Bowl Championship game.

But after graduating over 20 seniors, the Cardinals had to grind out a playoff spot this year.

Bishop Diego is led by junior running back/linebacker Adrian Soracco. He is averaging almost seven yards per carry and leads the team with 11 rushing touchdowns.
