Santa Barbara County officials are reminding all eligible voters that Monday is the last day to register to vote in the May 9 special mail ballot election for the Isla Vista Recreation and Park District.

If a voter has moved or changed his/her name, they must update their registration by completing a new voter registration form.

Eligible voters can register online at http://registertovote.ca.gov before midnight or in person at the County Elections Office located at 4440-A Calle Real from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mail-in voter registration forms are available at local libraries, post offices or DMV offices.

Voter Registration Cards that are postmarked on or before April 24 will be accepted for the May 9 election.

All eligible voters who miss the registration deadline may still participate in the special election by filling out a Conditional Voter Registration and casting a provisional ballot.

Conditional Voter Registration and Provisional Voting is only available at the Santa Barbara Elections Office located at 4440-A Calle Real and must be completed in person.

On Election Day, the Elections Office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A voter can confirm his/her voter registration status at the Secretary of State’s Voter Status lookup at https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/. For more information on registering and voting, contact the County Elections Office at 1-800-722-8683.
