Police Investigating Early Morning Stabbing in Santa Barbara

A bar altercation leads to a stabbing early Monday morning in the 3100 block of State Street.

The Santa Barbara Police Department said that a bar fight began between two people at the Uptown Lounge then spilled over to the Tiburon Tavern.

One of the victims suffered lacerations to his right hand and forearm. Another male victim got his right thigh slashed when he tried to detain the suspect.

The unidentified suspect fled the scene in a car that was parked nearby.

Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. The first victim was taken to the hospital while the second victim was treated at the scene.

SBPD says the suspect is known to police, but at this time, no one has been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
