Lompoc Police Officer Pleads Guilty in Domestic Violence Case

Lompoc Police Officer Matthew Hill was found eligible for a one year treatment program where he would receive counseling and enroll in a one-year program for batterers. Hill will be back in court on December 11 to find out if he is suitable for the program.

A Lompoc Police Officer has pled guilty to misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and violation of a domestic violence restraining order, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office.

Matthew Hill, was arrested and charged with physically assaulting his girlfriend in a Vandenberg Village home in October 2014.

The maximum sentence for these offenses would be one year and six months in county jail. However, the standard terms for these types of offenses include:

Three years of formal probation.
A restraining order preventing contact with the victim.
Mandatory participation in Veterans Treatment Court along with 52 weeks of batters treatment.
Community Service
10-year state gun ban
And a lifetime federal gun ban

Sentencing is scheduled for November 13 in Veterans Treatment Court.
