Santa Maria Police Investigating Possible Kidnapping and Assault of a Minor

The Santa Maria Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find out more information about a young girl who told police she was assaulted.

Investigators have now learned the route the suspect and the victim took in this case. They’re releasing the information to let the public know that there is a strong likelihood that the victim and suspect were seen walking to Sanchez School, which is where the crime occurred. Additionally, based on the route traveled investigators believe there is a possibility that the suspect lives in the vicinity or is at lease familiar with the neighborhood.

The girl went missing on Sunday. She was located during the police investigation.

The girl told police she had been playing in the 500 block of West Morrison when a man approached her.

She says he lured her to an isolated area where where the lewd acts happened.

He is described as Spanish speaking and wearing a black and red shirt with blue pants.
