Man Hospitalized After Bus Collision in Goleta

Just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a public transportation bus that collided with a pedestrian.

The accident happened at Hollister and Magnolia avenues in Old Town Goleta.

County Fire responded with one engine and a ladder truck, and was assisted by American Medical Response and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department.

Officials said a male pedestrian walking outside the crosswalk was struck by a passing MTD bus.

The man was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Authorities said there were no injuries to any passengers on the bus.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
