Goleta-Based Nonprofit Sends Ebola Supplies to Guinea

Direct Relief, a Goleta-based humanitarian nonprofit organization, sent out its 19th shipment of Ebola aid supplies Thursday.

The shipment, valued at more than $50,000, contains laboratory testing equipment for blood samples and face masks, as well as surgical and exam gloves.

The shipment heading for the Ministry Health in Guinea is part of the nearly $7 million of wholesale aid that has been sent to West Africa since this spring.

Relief efforts continue to urge that the most effective way to stop Ebola is to target the source. West Africa continues to require aid.
