Crime Rate on the Rise at UCSB

The number of crime cases reported at UC Santa Barbara are on the rise.

The new report, required by law, shows that in 2013 there were 23 reports of sexual assault or rape.

That number is up from 2012 when only 12 cases were reported and the year before that only 7 cases.

Alcohol arrests are also up from 30 to 53.

But some categories are down, including burglary.
