Solvang Tightens Water Rules

Solvang is taking more steps to deal with the prolonged drought that’s already turned many lawns brown in the Santa Ynez Valley city.

Stricter rules are about to be put in place.

Like many local cities, Solvang is worried about water supplies running out with no rain in sight.

The city council is expected to declare a Stage-Two drought at tonight’s meeting.
All customers have to cut back on their water use – even beyond what they’ve done so far.

Throughout the city, residential lawns are brown on many streets, and some homeowners have changed to drought tolerant landscaping or decorative rocks.
