Barricaded Man In Nipomo Taken Into Custody

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputies say the barricaded suspect in Nipomo is now in custody.

The suspect who was believed to be armed barricaded himself in a home at the 200 Block of Encino Lane.

It all started earlier Today in Santa Maria about 1:30 in the morning when it was believed the suspect had been involved in a carjacking.

Deputies chased after him to Nipomo when the suspect crashed into a fence at the intersection of Juniper Street and Mary Avenue. He then got off the car and ran into an occupied home.

A mother and 4-year-old were able to escape the house with the assistance of patrol deputies on the scene.

Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail were in direct contact with the suspect who is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s. After several hours the person gave himself up into custody.
