Fire crews battling Powerhouse Fire
Fire fighters are battling a wildfire in Santa Clarita, just North of Los Angeles.
The ‘Powerhouse’ fire started about 3:30 P.M. Thursday and quickly jumped from 30 acres to 600 acres in just two hours.
At one point, the fire lived up to its name, threatening homes in the Green Valley Community. About one thousand people live there.
However, an evacuation order was called off just after 10 p.m.
About 1,000 acres have burned, and there’s no containment.
The fire largely laid down as temperatures and winds dipped after dark.
