California Mid-State Fair releases lineup for free concerts

California Mid-State Fair

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - The big names performing at the Chumash Grandstand Arena aren't the only musical performances planned for the California Mid-State Fair.

On Monday, fair organizers announced the lineup for the free shows that will be held at the Frontier Stage and the Mission Square Stage.

Among the big names slated to perform on the free stages include legendary rock band Blue Öyster Cult, known most famously for their iconic hit, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper." The band will perform July 24 at the Frontier Stage.

Other performances include local acts, popular tribute bands, dance troupes and the Miss California Mid-State Fair Pageant.

Each show is free with admission into the fair. Shows at the Frontier Stage kick off at 8 p.m.; the Mission Square Stage performances start at 7 p.m.

Last week, California Mid-State Fair announced two big name country music acts would be performing at the Chumash Grandstand Arena as part of the Bud Light Concert Series. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday. The fair is expected to announce more concerts as part of that series in the coming days.

The 75th California Mid-State Fair runs July 21 through August 1.
