Car insurance prices in Santa Barbara County drop during COVID-19 pandemic

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Car insurance prices in Santa Barbara County have fallen during the pandemic.

According to insurance experts, the average cost in the county is $1,050 - that’s a 6% decrease from last year.

There could be multiple factors as to why prices dropped, but less drivers on the road is one of the big ones.

Insurance experts predict car insurance prices will increase this year. However, they have some tips on how Santa Barbara County residents can save money on their car insurance.

“There’s definitely a lot of ways in which people can lower their car insurance payment,” said insurance expert Tanveen Vohra. “The biggest thing is to go out and get car insurance quotes from multiple providers.”

Vohra also recommend drivers to educate themselves on what types of discounts are available.

“You get discounts for owning a home. You get discounts for insuring multiple vehicles on the same policy. You might wanna team up with your roommates to get the same car insurance," Vohra said.
