Solvang church teams up with SB County Public Health to get community members vaccinated

SOLVANG, Calif.- Health officials are looking to a higher power to help get COVID-19 vaccines out to more people in Solvang.

Bethania Lutheran Church has been on the front lines of the COVID battle.

The church began by distributing food to those affected by the pandemic.

Now, they're helping Solvang residents get their first dose of the Moderna vaccine.

“Most of our people were having to travel to Santa Barbara, Santa Maria or Lompoc,” said Bethania Lutheran Church Reverend Chris Brown. “We got a lot of senior citizens and folks that have trouble with mobility.”

The church will host another vaccine clinic for second shots on May 23.
