GOLETA, Calif. - Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte delivered a video message to the community regarding the COVID-19 health crisis.

The video was posted on the City of Goleta's YouTube page Monday afternoon.

In her message, Mayor Perotte said she was proud of the Goleta community for all of their efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.

She also reminded residents of the actions the City has taken to protect them during the pandemic.

These actions include requiring face masks to be worn at essential and lower-risk businesses, financial support for those impacted by the virus and the strategic plan for reopening the city.

Mayor Perotte reminded viewers that they can share pictures, video and stories on social media about anyone who has helped them during the stay at home order or any creative ways individuals and families are getting through this with the hashtag #GoodLandGoodPeople.

Pictures can also be uploaded of residents picking up their favorite foods through takeout with the hashtag #GoletaToGo.

The City plans to share these pictures and videos on their own Facebook and Instagram pages.

At this time, there have only been 11 cases of the virus in Goleta. Two community members who tested positive for the virus have died.
