Look for the Helpers: Virtual event for brain injury survivors, social distance concert

As our area is faced with ongoing changes due to a growing pandemic, we are bringing stories of people doing good in the community during a time of uncertainty.

Walk This Way

Coronavirus is not stopping people from raising money for their favorite charities.

Jodi House, a local non-profit, held its first virtual fundraiser. The Run, Walk and Roll 5k was supposed to take place at Chase Palm Park.

Due to physical distancing measures, participants had chose their own routes and filmed themselves along the way .

More than 100 people participated and raised more than $17,000.

Jodi House helps brain injury survivors recover regardless of their ability to pay.

Lookin' Out My Backdoor

Oxnard resident Bill Wootton is being applauded by his neighbors who say he's lifting their spirits during stay at home orders.

Wootton is playing music for people who live on his street. Neighbors say he's entertaining and a great distraction from all the heartbreak going on in the world.

A six-year old Montecito boy is doing a great impression of TV news anchors.

Eliot Tandy is a budding journalist. His mom said he was supposed to be doing his school work, but instead made several breaking news selfie videos.

In Tandy's breaking news video, he told us all to "be nice, don't fight, and don't spread the virus."
