2020 Solvang State of the City kicks off

SOLVANG, Calif. - Solvang Mayor Ryan Toussaint will welcome guests to the 2020 Solvang State of the City, to be held as two separate presentations this year.

The focus is to enhance the City of Solvang's communication with the public.

The topic of the 2020 Solvang State of the City is "Spirit of Solvang, History and Vision".

A free-to-attend Public Meeting, 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, will be hosted at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall (1745 Mission Drive), followed by a ticketed State of the City Address at Solvang's Hotel Corque (400 Alisal Road), 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

During breakout sessions, City, County and Industry professionals will be available to discuss infrastructure topics.

The morning section at the Solvang Veterans Hall will include a presentation by Mayor Toussaint, which will feature accomplishments and an introduction to upcoming City initiatives, followed by guest speakers Esther Jacobsen Bates, Executive Director, Elverhøj Museum of History and Art; René Gross Kærskov, Co-CEO, Hirsch Bedner Associates and Owner/Developer, The Copenhagen House; Ken Hira, President, Kosmont Companies; and Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College students, currently visiting from Denmark.

The afternoon State of the City Address and luncheon will include the presentation by Mayor Toussaint followed by guest speakers Monique Limón, California State Assemblymember; Esther Jacobsen Bates; René Gross Kærskov; Kosmont Companies, on the topic of economic development; and Jim Knell, SIMA Corporation, PAR building development.

The luncheon portion of the afternoon will be followed by the afore-mentioned breakout sessions, set for 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, to be held in separate banquet rooms at Hotel Corque.
