GOLETA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Animal Services and the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) are hosting an Adopt-a-thon for those looking for a fuzzy friend to join them for the holidays.

Dogs, cats and kittens will all be available for adoption at the PetSmart located at 7090 Hollister Ave in Goleta.

The Adopt-a-thon will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

"We have so many deserving animals who we would love to see get into homes for the holidays," shared Tara Diller, Director of Santa Barbara County Animal Services. "This is a great opportunity for families to come meet our animals and see how they interact outside of the shelter environment and talk to our amazing adoption counselors who know them well.”

While they wait to be adopted, the dogs of the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter will be taken on a pre Adopt-a-thon run by over 20 athletes from the UCSB Triathlon Team.

Animal Services said this is a great way for the dogs to decompress while actively engaging with University students.

Santa Barbara County Animal Services said all pets available for adoption are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped (free, lifetime registration included).
