SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A body found earlier Wednesday floating in the water near the boat launch area was a liveaboard, whose boat was their main residence.

The Harbor Patrol confirms the call came via marine radio from a passing boater of a person needing medical attention. Witnesses tell your NewsChannel they spotted the emergency scene before lunchtime. An intense crowd of police and paramedics were urgently doing CPR on someone lying on the ground.

Yellow caution tape was quickly put up.

The person was well surrounded; it was unclear if it was a male or female.

Medics were not able to resuscitate the person. No word on the person's identify.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is handling the investigation.
