Santa Barbara County reports additional COVID-19 death

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department announced an additional coronavirus-related death on Wednesday.

This person lived in the Santa Ynez Valley and was over 70 years old. They had underlying medical conditions, public health said.

They were not associated with a shared living facility.

A death is considered to be coronavirus-related when a death certificate is processed that lists COVID-19 as the cause of death or a significant contributing factor in the death. The process can take days to weeks to verify.
