Santa Barbara County reports two new coronavirus deaths

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department reported two new COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday.

These latest deaths brings the county's death county to 113.

One person was a resident of Santa Maria; the other lived in the Santa Ynez Valley. Both were between 50-69 years of age and had previous health issues.

A death is recorded as a coronavirus death when a death certificate is processed that lists COVID-19 as the cause of death or a significant contributing factor. The public health department said it can often take days or weeks to verify.
