Santa Barbara County reports new coronavirus death

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department recorded its 107 coronavirus-related death Tuesday.

This person lived in Santa Maria and was associated with a shared living facility. They were between the ages of 50 and 69 and had underlying health conditions, the public health department said.

This is the 107th death reported in Santa Barbara County.

A death is considered to be coronavirus-related when a death certificate is processed that lists COVID-19 as the cause of death or a significant contributing factor. The process can take days to weeks to verify.
