SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A COVID-19 testing site has opened at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara.
Appointments are mandatory to get tested. Santa Barbara County residents can make an appointment for testing at the new site online or by calling 1-888-634-1123.
The site is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. but hours of operation might change as needed.
The site is operated by OptumServe staff. Staff can administer 132 tests per day. Thursday's schedule is fully booked, Santa Barbara County officials said.
Santa Barbara County Public Health officer Dr. Henning Ansorg said tests at these sites will be free with an appointment.
It's the second public COVID-19 testing site in Santa Barbara County. The first opened in Santa Maria on Tuesday. A third site will open at Anderson Recreation Center in Lompoc on Friday.
