SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) - Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics is working to prevent costly dental emergencies.

The clinic is putting new attention on preventive dental care after nearly 24,000 patient visits last year.

Its mobile clinic brings screenings and treatment directly to children at local schools.

The effort aims to catch problems early and keep families out of the emergency room.
