Paso Robles Fire & Emergency Services alongside SLO County Fire subdued vegetation fire Thursday
PASO ROBLES, Calif. – Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services (PRFES) responded to a vegetation fire in the area of 2550 Dry Creek Rd. around 2:22 p.m. on Thursday.
The first responding unit reported a quarter-acre fire with a slow spread under a downed power line detail PRFES.
According to PRFES, those downed power lines and multiple fences impeded access to the fire, but the flames were under control after burning 0.77 acres around 4:55 p.m.
Three fire engines, a prevention officer, a battalion chief with PRFES with one water tender with Paso Robles Public Works responded alongside San Luis Obispo County Fire's three engines, one air attack, one dozer, and a battalion chief. Additional assistance was provided by PG&E.
Under the City of Paso Robles's Automatic Aid Agreement with Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department these emergency responders coordinated their response to the flames explain PRFES.
According to PRFES, the cause of the fire was determined to be from a downed power line following a bird strike.
