Goleta Beach Park closed following storm

GOLETA, Calif.– Goleta Beach Park is closed due to emergency beach operations following recent storms. The closure aims to speed up work already being done at the emergency response site.

Crews began work on Jan. 11 to sort large rocks and debris from basins below the Cave and Thomas Fire burn areas before it is transferred to the beach.

Goleta Beach Park still remains an active emergency response site under a proclaimed local emergency declared Jan. 9. The public should avoid the area.
