One person found dead after structure fire in Orcutt
ORCUTT, Calif. – One person was found dead after an Orcutt home caught on fire Wednesday afternoon, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The fire was reported just after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday on the 3500 block of Rosales Court in Orcutt, according to the fire department.
Crews conducted a primary search and found one person dead inside, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.
The fire was declared knocked down just before 4:30 p.m., Scott Safechuck said.
The fire was located nearby Arellanes Junior High School and Arrellanes Elementary School in the Tanglewood neighborhood.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
