Santa Barbara police arrest stabbing suspect, victim in surgery for injuries

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Two men, one victim and one alleged suspect, are hospitalized after an incident involving a knife Monday morning in Santa Barbara.

The adult male victim underwent surgery for wounds suffered during an apparent drunken argument, according to police. His condition is unclear.

The stabbing happened around midnight at the top of a four-story apartment building on the 300 block of East Carrillo Street. Firefighters had to use a ladder to get the two men down from the top of the apartment building.

Police have identified the suspect as 32-year-old Christopher Hunt Fox of Santa Barbara. Fox was arrested and then hospitalized for intoxication. He will be facing assault with a deadly weapon charges.

It is not known if the two men knew each other or what their relationship might have been. Santa Barbara Police continue to investigate.
