Santa Maria Elks lodge holds annual craft fair

SANTA MARIA, Calif.-

Santa Maria's annual Elk's Holiday Boutique Craft Fair was held on Sunday.
The event holds a food drive that donates canned food to the Santa Maria Food Bank.

The Pioneer Valley Highschool Band was one of many who attended the Fair.
The event benefits local businesses showcasing their goods and helps the organizations fundraise.

“It does help small business owners because it gives them the opportunity to meet new people they might not otherwise meet,” said the Fairs organizer Dawnette Cress.

“Events like these offer us an opportunity to get out in the community and raise funds so we can go to Disney Land on tour,” said Pioneer Valley Highschool Band Leader.

The fair also helps those who do business out of their home gain more exposure.

“This is actually Mosaic art. So what I do is I take all types of different media tile, break them up and do a design,” said Susan Butler holding up a butterfly Mosaic.

The craft show gives back to the community in other ways too.

“We don’t spend any money on advertising, we put everything towards the animals.
So it's great we can have an outlet to reach out to the community so they can donate to our cause,” said Natalie Stevens from the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation.

The fair offered fun face painting for kids and free health checks for adults.
