Bike light giveaway planned Wednesday night in Isla Vista
ISLA VISTA, Calif. - Several local groups are teaming up Wednesday evening to boost bicyclist safety and hand out free bike lights.
The Santa Barbara CHP, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and UCSB Associated Bike Committee are hosting a bike light giveaway at the Associated Students Pardall Center in Isla Vista.
CHP officers tell NewsChannel 3 they have 1500 lights to give away.
Organizers will help install the bike lights, and they will hand out some free helmets as well.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until they run out of lights.
