Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office continues support of Bucket Brigade
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - In the time of COVID-19, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is using creative ways to support the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade.
Inmates involved in the Success Stories Curriculum volunteered their time to help put together face-shields and masks with the Bucket Brigade providing the fabric and materials.
Several Sheriff's Office staff, including Sheriff Bill Brown, have participated in a recent call to action donating $325 so far. The Bucket Brigade has challenged supporters to raise $75,000 for the cause and purchase needed supplies.
A local licensed barber and Success Stories participant, Ernesto Solis, donated his skills to reach the goal by giving haricuts in exchange for donations to the Bucket Brigade.
The Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade was born in the aftermath of the Montecito Mudslides, donating time, energy, and moey to assist the community through hard times.
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Bucket Brigade have been donating masks and face-shields to first responders throughout the County.
