Oxnard police arrest man for possession of loaded firearm

OXNARD, Calif. -- Oxnard police arrested one man found in possession of controlled substances and a loaded handgun on Wednesday early morning.

On Wednesday at around 3 a.m., Oxnard police officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Toyota Camry at the 3200 block of Saviers Road.

Officers stopped the car on a vehicle code violation.

Officers identified the driver as Alberto Guillermo Flores, officers say that he was in possession of a controlled substance.

During a search of the Flores' car, officers say they located a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun on the floor board.

Flores was said to be the sole occupant of the car.

Officers arrest Flores on several felony firearm and narcotic related charges without incident.
