Beacon Barber Shop reopens Wednesday with extra precautions.

ORCUTT, Calif. - Barbershops and salons are now allowed to reopen in Santa Barbara County. One barbershop in Orcutt reopened Wednesday and is taking extra precautions.

Beacon Barber Shop reopened after being closed for over two months. After announcing their reopening on social media, the owner, Kevin Pischke, received dozens of calls for appointments.

To get your hair cut at the shop, you need to schedule an appointment. You also need to wear a mask for your appointment.

Once you arrive, they will take your temperature at the door.

There is hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes by each station and at the front door. Pischke said he ordered it weeks ago to prepare for reopening later.

The shop is only allowing one client per barber inside the shop at a time. Right now, the shop only has two barbers at a time, allowing for physical distancing.

Normally, they would have a bench full of people waiting. Pischke says he has spaced his appointments apart by 45 minutes to allow for less overlap of customers waiting outside.

Barbershops are not allowed to do facial services or beard trims.

Both Pischke and his clients said that they have been waiting a long time for their haircuts, and they feel significantly lighter after today.
