CSUs join UCs in suspending trips to Italy and Korea
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Cal Poly announced on Friday that the CSU system has restricted travel to China and South Korea at this time.
Cal Poly's website says they are still moving forward with travel programs in other locations. China and South Korea are the only locations restricted due to the novel coronavirus right now.
These restrictions come after the CDC issued Level 3 Travel Advisories: To Avoid Nonessential Travel to Italy and South Korea as well as Iran and China.
The International Center recommends that students make informed decisions on their travels based on information from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and similar sources.
Cal Poly recommends that participants in their other travel programs insure their flights against trip disruption and/or cancellation.
Cal Poly said the International Center is continuing to monitor the coronavirus situation worldwide along with other health concerns.
The school said the safety and security of their students, faculty and staff abroad is their highest priority.
